Gotland Sheep Breeders Association of North America

Gotland Sheep are a friendly, calm, medium size, fine, luster longwool breed of sheep. They were developed on the island of Gotland off the coast of Sweden. They are known for their clear, gray wool that hangs in silky, lustrous locks. Before 2006, they were found in several European countries, New Zealand and Australia. None were to be found in North America.

The Gotland Sheep Breeders Association of North America is an organization dedicated to establishing the presence of Gotland Sheep in North America. The process involved is through the use of imported, purebred Gotland sheep semen on designated Foundation Breed ewes and using the best of the offspring to continue breeding up to essentially purebred Gotland sheep.
